I think the Native Foto website is a great idea and absolutely a much needed resource for the Caribbean. Quality Caribbean themed images have been noticeably hard to get, especially highly ‘niched’ images outside of the mainstream fare.
All around, from promoting Caribbean photography, and promoting Caribbean photographers, the result is win/win and I expect that the process will be self-sustaining the more that end users use it.

Thanks Zaf …. As with any project for which you hope to be successful, you need to find the right people with which to share your dream and then buckle up for the ride! Along the way I found Zaf, my first quirky travelling mate. Initially, I contracted Mr Zaf Rahaman as my website design Project Lead after carefully researching the local T&T talent, but, quickly it became evident that his “in your face” enthusiasm and unique skill set, Certified Management Accountant (CIMA) and Website Designer with +10Years experience working in New York, could offer much to the long term development of NativeFoto. I invited Zaf to my small management team and now he is actively involved in helping shape the future for NativeFoto along with you our first group of Test Contributors.

This is a great idea and definitely needed in the Caribbean as local images are so hard to find. Can’t wait to check it out and looking forward to not only purchase images but to be a contributor also.

I think this is an amazing concept and definitely needed in the Caribbean since is always so difficult to find local images. Great logo also, very simple and yet so dynamic. Congrats, looking forward to it.

You’re invited to be amongst a small group of trusted Contributors (Photographers) to join us at NativeFoto in the Upload and Testing Phase leading to our full business launch.
What is NativeFoto?
The Caribbean’s first Royalty Free stock image website where you can find LOCAL (Native) Images and media content. We are dedicated to finding and delivering content that reflect the Country and Region that we call home. Contributors (Photographers) will be able to highlight and sell their works online and check their account status for pay-outs.
History of NativeFoto
NativeFoto was founded by yours truly Derek Drayton. For over a decade I worked with a large multinational company and travelled extensively. During that time it struck me at how challenging it was to effectively source local stock photography. Because of this, companies and other clients often resorted to purchasing images from international sites even when local photos were preferred. I thought there must be a better way— one where local (Native) Talent would benefit, and so NativeFoto was born from a festering idea over several years.
How much will NativeFoto Contributors (photographers) earn?
Our photographers are our biggest asset, and we treat them accordingly! You always retain ownership of your images and have the ability to remove your images from our site if desired.
Contributors receive 50% of the equivalent US dollar price in your local currency less all cost of financial transfers. At NativeFoto we want to be true partners with our Local Contributors, as such, we offer the highest payout levels in the industry compared to many International Stock Image sites that generally offer pay-outs between 30%-40%.
Registration of Contributors (Photographers)
You can go to the “Sell Images” tab on this BLOG, that will carry you to the relevant NativeFoto webpage. Follow the instructions and complete a simple tutorial. Once you are registered you can begin the process of uploading your photos.
